All about Babymonster

Babymonster, also known as Baemon, is an upcoming South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment. The band was initially scheduled to debut as a seven-member group. The other member Ahyeon has reportedly fallen ill and YG Entertainment who handles them have reportedly said the decision is for her wellness. Soompi quoted a source from YG Entertainment, “BabyMonster will be debuting as a six-member group with Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Haram, Rora, and Chiquita. After careful discussion, it was decided that Ahyeon, who prepared together with BABYMONSTER, will be focusing on getting rest for the time being due to health reasons.” The report further says, “Although we are saddened to be unable to introduce Ahyeon as a member of BabyMonster, we made this decision for the sake of the artist’s health. We will spare no support so that Ahyeon can recover fully and return in good health.”

Babymonster was touted as an “all-rounder” group and its members labelled as “elites” by the public and media alike, wherein each excel in vocals, rap, and dance. The ensemble is also proficient in multiple languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese. As per reports, Ruka, Chiquita, Haram, and Pharita were selected by the label, while Rora and Asa were contemplated to be placed into two different projects before ultimately joining the final line-up as the “fans’ choice”.
